Well Child Clinic

The aim of the Well Child Clinic at the Harrison County Health Department is to provide health care to help promote the good health of children.  Our goal is to promote a child's wellness by monitoring the child's growth and development to detect any abmormal findings early.  During the clinic, we note any signs of illness that might require a referral and monitor the child's immunization records to keep them up-to-date.  Well Child Clinic participants may also recieve:

  • A physical exam by a physician or nurse practitioner
  • Blood test for anemia and urine testing
  • Lead testing and screening
  • Developmental screenings
  • Information on available resources
  • Referral assistance for medical or financial help

We also offer health education and counseling services including, but not limited to growth and development, nutrition, minor illnesses, safety and parenting issues.

The Well Child Clinic serves any child from birth to five (5) years.  Priority is given to families without health insurance, Medicaid and whom routine Well Child visits present a hardship.
